Sacred Umrah Roadmap • رفيق الحرم
Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah performed at any time of year, consisting of four primary pillars: assuming Ihram at the Miqat, performing seven circuits of Tawaf around the Kaaba, walking seven laps of Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, and shaving or trimming hair (Tahallul).
Perform Ghusl, clip nails, and put on the Ihram garments (two unstitched white sheets for men; modest, loose clothing for women). Make the formal Niyyah (intention) for Umrah and begin reciting the Talbiyah aloud until reaching the Kaaba in Masjid al-Haram.

Perform seven anti-clockwise circuits around the Holy Kaaba, starting each circuit aligned with the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad). Recite supplications during your circuits, pray two Rak'ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim, and drink Zamzam water before heading to the Sa'i gallery.

Ascend the hill of Safa facing the Kaaba to make initial supplications, then walk towards Marwah. Completing the journey from Safa to Marwah is lap one; returning to Safa is lap two. Complete seven total laps, finishing on the hill of Marwah.

Men conclude Umrah by shaving the head entirely (Halq—highly rewarded) or trimming hair equally all over (Taqsir). Women conclude by trimming a fingertip length (approx. 1 inch) from the ends of their hair. With this complete, all Ihram restrictions are lifted and your Umrah is accomplished.
